Polegate may be getting a new Italian takeaway if plans are given the go-ahead.

Yummy Pizza has applied to Wealden District Council for planning permission to open up in a site in the high street.

The unit within The Centre is currently vacant but was previously used as a fruit and vegetable shop.

Plans say the takeaway, which would employ two full-time and two part-time members of staff, would be open 11am-11pm everyday with Sundays and bank holidays shutting at 10pm.

Members of the public can comment on the plans until April 22.
