Just six flights were cancelled at Gatwick Airport today as it worked hard to minimise the disruption caused by heavy rain and wind early this morning (Monday October 28).

The cancellation of rail services caused queues and congestion, but volunteers worked closely with rail staff to help passengers and mitigate the disruption.

Gatwick is now operating a normal schedule, but because of the continued problems on rail and road, passengers are advised to leave extra time for their journey.

Of the scheduled 341 departure flights and 351 arrival flights, six were cancelled and 20 were delayed as a result of the weather.
