All I remember was cycling over the railway line near Sainsbury’s on the cycle path. The next thing I know I’m propped up on a chair in Fludes Carpets, blood from my head and hand everywhere, and kind voices behind me asking where I had been heading. This kind couple had scraped me up having found me and got me to the store where an ambulance was called. They then dashed off to the club to inform my class, and I have no way of knowing who they were and how to thank them. All I know from the receptionist at Bannatyne is that they were in their sixties. I think I blacked out,as my blood pressure was very low, but don’t know where they found me. If I had not been wearing a helmet, the paramedic said things would have been far worse than concussion with a bashed head and fractured wee finger,and if I had not been on a cycle path I would probably be dead, as I fell to my right, which would have been under a car. Thank goodness it didn’t happen on the Rodmill Hill. More cycle paths and safe, clearly marked crossings with pedestrian and bike priority, please, and thank goodness for kind souls.
