LETTER: Stay out of the countryside

We are quite prosperous enough, and moreover developed-on enough here in Sussex thank you. All the nonsense about falling behind and our local economy etc are self-fulfilling nonsense. Share the pain of aircraft noise and place the (self-fulfilling) new housing and jobs somewhere else; for the same net benefit to UK PLC please.

Destroying what remains of our peace and quiet and adding yet more housing and development for no net gain is a delusion. Gatwick Airport and its valued contribution to the local economy will maintain status quo if the runways get built elsewhere.

If we wanted to live in a City and by an airport/to work in all the attendant employment etc, then we would not have chosen West Sussex as somewhere to live.

Keep new airport development near to cities which need it for business and stay out of the countryside please!

Appalled.
