No pride or respect from the council

I WISH to register my objection to the possibility of the council selling off the land along the ridge of Tenant Hill and on Mount Carvey.

In an era of global campaigns, which seek to reverse climate change, and raise awareness of the need to protect and cherish the planet which sustains us, it is most disheartening to learn that our locally-elected representatives view our immediate environment with such disregard.

In this day and age, we should be moving beyond the coarse perception of the countryside as merely something to exploit for financial gain.

The council must surely have greater vision than that.

What is this perverse desire, which is repeatedly displayed in our local decision-making, that seeks to sink Worthing, and its surrounding areas, into anonymity and concrete.

Where does it come from?
