Southwick book launch success
The Southwick Society’s publication, More Memories of Southwick, follows on from the hugely-successful Memories of Southwick and Kingston Buci, printed in 2009.
During the two-hour launch event at Manor Cottage, in Southwick Street, last Saturday, author Ted Heasman signed more than 120 copies.

Hide AdSociety chairman Mary Candy said: “The morning went really well, with more than 100 people visiting the Manor Cottage and over 120 copies of the book sold in two hours (that’s one a minute!).
“Ted signed all the books and reminisced with many friends who had come to buy copies. Visitors were also able to sit and look through Ted’s photograph albums, which he had brought along for people to browse through.”
Mrs Candy compiled the books from some of the articles written for the Shoreham Herald’s Bygones column between 2002 and 2013.
Copies cost £5. Telephone 01273 596127 or visiting southwicksociety.btck.co.uk to order. For each book sold, £1 will be donated to Mr Heasman’s chosen charity, Blind Veterans UK.
The Manor Cottage Heritage Centre will re-open for the 2014 season on May 24, with the first exhibition on Southwick Sea and Ships.
