Supermarket set to bridge the gap
Town leaders have welcomed the move.
It has been the planners' long-held dream to bridge the rail line at this point.
Since modern Bexhill's creation a century ago, the rail line has effectively divided the shopping centre in two.

Hide AdRegeneration partnership town centre and tourism action group chairman Steve Ayres called it "a positive move."
Partnership chairman and Chamber of Commerce president Malcolm Mitcheson said: "This sounds very positive. It's a great move in the right direction."
The proposal is to modernise and extend the store from 1,468 sq. metres to 2,553.
The proposed extension would bring the east side of the store out to a point level with the access tunnel from Buckhurst Place.
