TOUGHER standards introduced by Ofsted has been cited as the reason for a school losing its ‘outstanding’ status following its latest inspection.

Davison High School, in Selbourne Road, Worthing, was downgraded to a ‘good’ school after an inspection last month.

Head teacher Chris Keating, who took over from long-standing head Della West in August last year, said the school would have received the same ‘good’ mark had the new tougher standards been in place before.
