VIDEO: Firefighters tackle blaze at derelict Uckfield nursing home

Fire crews were called out at Ridgewood Manor in Lewes Road at around 8.23pm, following 999 calls from more than 30 residents
On arrival, crews found the former nursing home was ablaze and used water jets to bring the fire under control.

Hide AdAt its height six fire appliances were at the scene including the fire service’s water carrier.
A spokesman from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the cause of the blaze is not known at this stage and that there are no reports of casualties.
Residents have been asked to stay indoors and to keep windows and doors shut as the fire is producing a large amount of smoke.
Lewes Road is closed in the vicinity of the fire and residents are asked to avoid the area.
