VIDEO: Watch a Spitfire in full flight
It was filmed from aboard a helicopter at around 1,000ft high and captures a Spitfire soaring through the air incredibly close over Southampton.
The famous World War Two plane took off from Southampton Airport, where 80 years ago today the first Spitfire prototype took off when it was Eastleigh Aerodrome on March 5, 1936.

Hide AdThe experience was put on by Flying with Spitfires, a new company based at Goodwood which gives people the chance to go up in a helicopter and fly alongside a Spitfire over Chichester, Arundel, Portsmouth of the Isle of Wight.
