Youngsters excel at scouting awardsas lives are changing for the better
District Commissioner Elaine Gausden presided over the afternoons events and Group Scout Leader Tracey Plim says it has been a busy year for the 9th. “Six Scouts achieved the Gold badge, four Cubs gained Sliver badges and three Beavers received the Bronze badge,” she said.
“All were presented with their certificate by the relevant section County commissioners.

Hide Ad“The Gold badge recipients will now embark on their next step in Scouting which is the Platinum badge.”
Gold badge recipient Poppy, says it had been a lot of hard work but was delighted with her achievement, adding: “I could not have done it with out the support of Scout Leader Chris Anzemos and his team of leaders.”
Tracey said Scouting is having a positive impact on the youngsters. “Scouting is making the youngsters more independent and confident. Its changing these children’s lives for the better; there’s no two ways about it!”
The 9th will be holding an Auction of Promises at the Scout Hut, Wainwright Road, Bexhill on November, 10. There are many fabulous items up for auction, including a Family Swim Ticket, two passes to Old MacDonald’s Farm, and six tickets to Brighton Greyhound stadium, Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start. Entrance 50p per adult, children free. There will also be a raffle and refreshments.
