Habitually referred to as a psychopath, one US professor believes that Jeffrey Dahmer’s condition could be a misdiagnosis.

A neuroscientist from the University of California strongly believes that the diagnosis of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, the subject of a recent Netflix series, is incorrect. James Fallon, professor of psychiatry and human behaviour and emeritus professor of anatomy and neurobiology at the Irvine School of Medicine, instead has offered an alternative diagnosis.

“Jeffrey Dahmer was not a psychopath. His characteristics all point to BPD. It was never confirmed he was a psychopath but everyone assumed for simplicity’s sake that a bad person is a psychopath” he discussed. "He showed emotional empathy with people and many psychopaths don’t have that.”
