He said: “We really loved playing Billingshurst and Oakwood but that was more about fitness really. Today has been more about how players deal with things and the opposition.
“Obviously players coming here and are playing in front of their own fans for the first time and creating an impression.

Hide Ad“We have five friendly matches to play and it will be very beneficial because we can learn from some of the mistakes we made today.
“Dean Leacock should have scored with the header that he had and Izale McLeod should have scored with an easier chance.
“Lewis Young was through with only Scotty Parker to beat and maybe in three or four weeks he’ll do better with better fitness levels.
“It was a good fitness test for us. Working so hard chasing the ball for most of the game.
“Fulham played very well and treated it very seriously with the quality of the squad they sent to us. It was great for us.”
