In pictures: Roof comes off at Nyewood Lane ... and the rest of the stands follow
and live on Freeview channel 276
Monday was the day the bulldozer moved in to take the redevelopment of the Nye Camp up a gear - demolishing the main stand, its smaller neighbour and any other bits of brickwork standing in the way of the new 367-seat grandstand due to be built before the start of next season.
Some soft demolition had been done beforehand to make this main stage of demolition a bit more straightforward and it didn't take long for the stands and all the memories that have been made while they've stood there at the side of the pitch to be dismantled.

One onlooker quipped as the main stand disappeared: "It was older than Jack Pearce himself."
* We'll be following the ongoing redevelopment of the ground - which also includes a new covered Seasons end, new toilets and floodlights and an upgraded sound system - as workl continues so keep checking this website and the Bognor Observer for the latest on that and on-field Rocks matters.
