Lady Crabtree will entertain with stories of her favourite Great Society hostesses and their extravagant lifestyles at a Cheese and Wine evening at East Dean Village Hall on Saturday January 23, at 7pm for 7.30pm.

Speaker, comedienne, hostess and entertainer, Lady Crabtree is possibly Eastbourne’s answer that other Lady C, from I’m A Celebrity, but this dowager is actually a much-loved character performed by author and broadcaster Paul James, who amuses audiences with her thoughts on a range of subjects including how to grow old disgracefully. She made her first appearance on stage in July 1978 as Lady Constance Crabtree inspired by a part Paul played in an Alan Bennett’s comedy. Emma Lusion, the Mistress of Magic, will also perform. Tickets cost £10 and can be booked by calling Stewart on 01323 423710.
