More GPs in east Sussex despite national workforce crisis warning
The number of GPs in east Sussex is rising, figures show, despite warnings that the NHS is facing a crippling shortage of doctors.
The Health Foundation warns that serious workforce shortfalls across English GP services pose a significant risk to the quality of health care over the next decade.

Hide AdBut NHS England figures show there were the equivalent of 296 full-time GPs in the NHS East Sussex CCG area at the end of May.
This was up from 293 in June 2021 – the most easily comparable figures from last year.
Of them, 173 were partners, 73 were salaried GPs and 45 were in training.
There were also one regular locum GPs, and four GPs on retainer.
